Stephanie Calabrese

A native of New Jersey, Stephanie Calabrese began making photographs with her first camera at age seven. She moved to the South at age 13, and learned to make photographic prints in the dark room during high school. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Georgia and went on to create a career at the intersection of art and technology. Stephanie moved to Monroe, Georgia in 1996. In 2008, she took a leap of faith to become a freelance documentary artist, focusing in photography, video and writing.

Stephanie is the author of the best-selling The Art of iPhoneography: A Guide to Mobile Creativity and Lens on Life: Documenting Your World Through Photography, and a co-author of Expressive Photography: The Shutter Sisters Guide to Shooting from the Heart. She's a past TEDx Talk speaker, and has produced documentary work for CARE International, UPS, and The Coca-Cola Company. Her photographs have been published in Time Lightbox, Forbes.com, LIFE.com, Digital Photo, Photo.net, Professional Photographer, and the ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) Bulletin, and The Bitter Southerner
